Abstract

The article examines the current state of Kazakhstan’s light industry, which is one of the country’s priority economic sectors and an important component of national economic security. It highlights the low share of domestic products in the internal market, the dependence on imports, and the insufficient level of raw material processing.

Based on data analysis and a survey of industry leaders, the main issues were identified: shortage of qualified personnel, high tax burden, lack of investment, and weak state support.

The need for cluster-based development, digitalization, promotion of export-oriented production, and active government participation in the modernization of the sector is emphasized.

study concludes that the light industry has high growth potential, provided that comprehensive support measures and innovative development policies are implemented.
